Hi, I’m John.

I work on ML serving systems at Meta, focused on feed ranking and content sourcing across Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. My work centers on reliability, observability, and performance in large distributed systems.

Earlier in my career, I built data and backend infrastructure across analytics, machine learning, and production platforms. At Unity, I worked on large-scale data infrastructure supporting analytics and ML workloads. At Askuity, I helped build backend and data systems for a retail analytics platform used by suppliers and retailers.

Through consulting at Badal.io, I worked with organizations to modernize data platforms on GCP, build production data pipelines, and shape data architecture for analytics. At LCBO, I built batch and real-time pipelines that made data easier to access for analytics and decision-making.

I’ve taught undergraduate programming and postgraduate data analytics capstone courses at St. Clair College, spoken about streaming systems at a Google Developer Group event, contributed to open source, and mentored engineers and students.
